When Passion Speechless Lies

Just because it's lovely. . .

Since There's No Help
Michael Drayton

Since there's no help, come let us kiss and part.
Nay, I have done: you get no more of me,
And I am glad, yea glad with all my heart
That thus so cleanly I myself can free.
Shake hands for ever, cancel all our vows,
And when we meet at any time again,
Be it not seen in either of our brows
That we one jot of former love retain.
Now at the last gasp of love's latest breath,
When, his pulse failing, passion speechless lies,
When faith is kneeling by his bed of death
And innocence is closing up his eyes,
Now, if thou would'st, when all have given him over,
From death to life thou might'st him yet recover.

truth behind the reality or reality behind truth....
or may be both simultaneously...

poetry is becoming my lifeline Doug.. a break from all is not really possible now..it seems to me..

Devika,

Poetry, I think, allows for a more direct link between one mind and another, between one heart and another. That is why fools in love have always been driven to try to compose poems for and about their beloved. Poetry connects people more so than any other form of art.

Thus I think it an excellent lifeline. It is a communal lifeline. I wouldn't try to take a break from the community of God's people.

You know, you always make the most interesting posts: here, on Andrew's blog, and on your own. Thank you.

Yeah Doug...

Poetry connects and speaks in clear voice...and is a lifeline.

Between us if this honouring has to be, then the whole meaning goes off Doug...

but, true even among peers, when there's an acceptance one feels honoured.. i feel honoured when you and andrew visit my blogs..:-)

the others -- may be i feel. but there is a special happiness when seemingly like minds approve.

best regards,
